“The virtue of love is to rejuvenate the heart” – Kheira Chakor.

Getting married in your country or abroad is a beautiful adventure, but we all know how difficult it can be to organize and plan. Some steps can be made easier to allow you to manage this beautiful life project. In particular, by defining your budget from the start, it is essential to make this analysis beforehand, to set your budget and to try to stick to it. Discover the precious advice of a Wedding Planner, Farah Casabianca, founder of Première Plume.

1 – Determine the number of guests

If this wedding project is enchanting at first sight, it is nevertheless necessary to analyze from the beginning your financial situation, and especially the costs that represent this magnificent wedding that makes you dream so much. First of all, you and your partner will have to draw up a guest list. This guest list will be a starting point to determine an approximate number of adults and children. This list and these numbers will evolve as your organization progresses.

Which one should I start with? The good news or the bad news? The bad news is that not all of your guests will be able to make it to your wedding. It is necessary to count on an average of 10% of withdrawal. The good news is that at the beginning you will have overestimated the costs related to the caterer, the rental of equipment, but also to the decoration. You will therefore make a saving on your basic budget, if it has been well established beforehand.

2 – Establish a list of providers

The future bride and groom must ask themselves about the list of service providers they want for their wedding. The success of your wedding will depend largely on the selection of the main providers:

  • Wedding Venue
  • Caterer
  • Equipment rental (with venue / caterer or rental company)
  • DJ
  • Photographer
  • Decoration

You are free to add other providers if the budget allows it, here are some examples:

  • Wedding Planner (Organization & Coordination) or Coordinator only for the D-day
  • Make-up / Hairstyling
  • Videographer
  • Music group
  • Specific animation (ex: magician)
  • Photobooth
  • Transportation
  • Accomodations for the guests
  • Brunch the next day

3 – Allocate a budget to each provider

Once the list of providers is established, we advise you to organize them by order of importance, so it will be easier for you to make choices and prioritize at the desired time. Ask around you, but also online about the rates charged for each of these providers. It is important to have an objective eye and therefore to have realistic figures. Indeed, all prices for all providers are present on the market, it will then be necessary to judge the expected level of quality against the price.

We strongly advise you to ensure a certain quality of service, hence the choice to select service providers with average prices or to call upon a Wedding Planner to help you. Do not hesitate to look at the online reviews and social networks of the latter.

4 – Get in contact with a Wedding Planner to establish an estimate

Whether you sign with a wedding planner or not, it is always interesting to establish an estimate with this service provider. Indeed, this will allow you to have a comparison with your research and to situate yourself in relation to your budget.

A contact with a Wedding Planner and the establishment of a quote is free, so take advantage of it! It’s up to you to decide whether you want to confirm the services of a Wedding Planner who can help you with the organization and coordination of your wedding, or only a Coordinator to help you on the big day. You may be surprised at the price and especially the time saved.
